Kick-off: 15.00 (GMT)

John Terry, Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas are expected to return for Chelsea's Barclays Premier League clash with Newcastle on Saturday.

The trio were rested from the squad that defeated Watford in the FA Cup on Sunday but will face the Magpies at Stamford Bridge.

Thibaut Courtois is likely to return in goal after Petr Cech was given an outing against Watford.

Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul is set to return for his side's Barclays Premier League trip to Chelsea on Saturday.

The Dutchman has been out injured since November but came through a behind-closed-doors friendly against Celtic on Thursday and is set to replace Jak Alnwick in caretaker-boss John Carver's line-up.

Carver will bring back his big guns including Moussa Sissoko, Daryl Janmaat, Fabricio Coloccini and Jack Colback, all of whom were controversially omitted from last week's FA Cup defeat at Leicester. Papiss Cisse and Cheick Tiote are on African Nations Cup duty.

Newcastle (possible, 4-2-3-1): Krul; Janmaat, Coloccini, Williamson, Dummett; , Colback; Perez, Sissoko, Gouffran; Riviere

Match notes

Lionel Messi’s £500-million move to Stamford Bridge may have died, after assistant coach Steve Holland – stepping in for Jose Mourinho, who didn’t want to face the press on Friday following his Football Association misconduct charge – quashed such rumours, but joint-leaders Chelsea have no injury concerns for Saturday’s clash against Newcastle . For the visitors, caretaker-manager John Carver will be thankful that Dutch international Tim Krul is back from injury, with Chelsea out for revenge following the 2-1 defeat at St James’ Park last month.

Referee: Roger East: 5 Y19 R0
Betting: Home 2-9, Away 14-1 Draw 9-2
Stat of the game: John Terry has scored in three of his last four appearances for Chelsea.

Oliver Pickup's prediction: Chelsea 3 Newcastle 0
