With Arsenal facing Manchester City on Sunday, and a showdown between Alexis Sanchez and Sergio Aguero, it has emerged that City showed strong interest in signing Sanchez when it became clear that he was leaving Barcelona in the summer.
United officials then met Sanchez’s agents, to City’s alarm – only for both Manchester clubs to lose out to Barcelona. City, of course, bought Aguero instead.
