Daihatsu FC?DECK Concept is a cab-over cutie
When we first saw the Daihatsu FC?DECK (also called the FC Deco Deck), we couldn't get over its funny name, but this cab-over kei car could signal a whole new level of efficiency wrapped in a very small package. Unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show, the Daihatsu FC Deco Deck is powered by a liquid fuel cell and a compact generator, and the Japanese automaker suggests that this technology might someday be used in low-cost vehicles.
Looking like the back of a Nissan Cube mounted atop a piece of luggage, Daihatsu says that the platform used for the FC Deco Deck allows greater freedom for the design of fuel-cell vehicles. In addition to the FC Deco Deck, Daihatsu is also showing off two generators (the FC-Dock 20C and FC-Dock 5C) for use of this technology outside of the automotive world. Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (Daihatsu) will be exhibiting at the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show, which will be open to the public at Tokyo Big Sight from Friday, November 22 to Sunday, December 1. As well as premiering four new show cars (three models) for the first time anywhere in the world, Daihatsu will also be exhibiting one car scheduled for release (one model), seven production cars and various other technologies.
Based on the overall theme of this year's Tokyo Motor Show – "Compete! And shape a new future." – Daihatsu will be playing to its strengths by showcasing the fun and the wide range of possibilities that mini vehicles offer, under the banner, "PLAY Tomorrow! Exploring the further possibilities of mini vehicles." It will be exhibiting cars and technologies that capture the near future, paving the way for a better life and a brighter tomorrow for people all over the world.
As well as offering improved performance as an open-top sports car, the Kopen in particular is a car that offers new value in a different form. The outer body panels made from resin can be exchanged like a cover, and drivers can enjoy different designs based on a single framework. Daihatsu will be showcasing two of these designs at the motor show, one with a "Stylish & Emotional" exterior and the other with "Tough & Aggressive" styling.
The Deca Deca, meanwhile, proposes a new category of vehicles called "super space". Combining a commanding view from the front seats on a par with a van with a large interior utility space, it was developed for energetic young people and families who enjoy outdoor pursuits during the weekend, and also for active seniors.
The FC Deco Deck on the other hand has been developed as a zero-emission next generation mobility vehicle. Equipped with a unique precious metal-free liquid fuel cell system developed by Daihatsu, it falls within standards for mini vehicles. Daihatsu will also be exhibiting two types of generators based on the same fuel cell system: FC-Dock 20C and the FC-Dock 5C. These are technologies that will open up new possibilities for the energy society of the future, offering security and freedom.
Daihatsu will also be showcasing the Tanto Welcome Seat, a welfare vehicle scheduled for release based on the new Tanto, which was launched in October this year.

this is nice and unique- the designer thought of the box- my name is tlhomelang - i live in Africa from Botswana- i have many sketched or pen drawn *really nice, deep into time design concepts of trucks and buses of diffrent brands e.g bmw, freightliner, volvo, unamed concepts. i also drew super cars, suv etc of diffrent brands- i hve been drawing years yet compiling them and also trying to connect with the right people-who can hook me up with the right people who think beyond the box or who have the eye n mind of innovetion,creativity and in love with new creations or nice concepts designs to make my dream come true. the problem-or challenges- is the gaps and lack of support - connection-network- talent search- i dont know wht to do beacuse passion keeps calling me even if i dont want to draw i keep finding myself drawing out of love,hobby out of the box etc. most people here in Africa or Botswana my country, i love transportation designing, car rendering, exterior- etc -i never went to skul for tht but my drawings are amazing- u would think-you think im a student in these transportation design colleges- though im not yet using the technical staff they use- but i know and believe some lucky person would help me follow this million dollar talent-dream-carrier-hobby into reality- dont know or understand bout this kind of carrier, they think its impossible- i believe there is something special out of this raw talent i believe- i will change lives etc-i will change even the history of concept designs if i get support from the relevant right people- or colleges or manufacturers - whoever - somebody help me-
