2014 WSOP

The World Series of Poker announced its preliminary schedule for the 46th edition of the tournament series, slated for Las Vegas in May through July 2015.

The WSOP will once again be staged at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, starting on May 27th, 2015. The action will continue until the final table of the main event is reached on July 14th. The $10,000 main event begins on July 5th, and for the second straight year, the champion is guaranteed to win $10 million.

Here are some of the other highlights of the next WSOP:
–The Millionaire Maker, starting on June 5, is back, with a $1,500 buy-in and the winner getting at least a million dollars.
– The Monster Stack tourney returns as well, starting on June 12 for $1,500. Last year’s tournament had a huge turnout of more than 7,800 entries, and WSOP organizers expect a large field again in 2015.
–A new event, called “the Colossus,” will start on May 29th, featuring a buy-in of just $565 and a guaranteed $5,000,000 prize pool.

WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart had this to say about the schedule:

“We believe the WSOP is uniquely able to deliver the big event with life-changing money for some and a life-experience for all. We are going to proudly stage the kinds of events which draw players from all around the world while also staying true to our heritage of contesting all variants of poker.”

The full schedule will be announced next month. For more on the details released so far, visit the WSOP website.
